Historic Performance by the National Team
The Costa Rica racquetball team delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Pan American Racquetball Championships, held from March 28 to April 4 in Guatemala City. The Costa Rican delegation emerged as one of the continent’s top competitors, earning key medals and strengthening its position in regional racquetball.
Pan American Gold in Mixed Doubles
The mixed doubles team of Andrés Acuña and Larissa Faeth secured the gold medal, dominating the final match and marking one of Costa Rica’s most memorable achievements in the competition. This victory highlights the rising competitive level of Costa Rican athletes on the international stage.
Additional Medals and Regional Ranking
In addition to the mixed doubles gold, Costa Rica also earned bronze medals in the women’s national teams competition and in the combined team event (men and women), with contributions from players like Maricruz Ortiz and Faeth. As a result of this performance, Costa Rica became the second-ranked country heading to the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, just behind Mexico.
