Costa Rican artist Sebas Guillem became this weekend the first representative of Costa Rica to receive a “Golden Buzzer” on the prestigious talent show Got Talent España. The feat, achieved during the auditions for the eleventh season, grants the 29-year-old musician a direct pass to the semifinal stages of the competition.
Guillem began his audition with a piano rendition of Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E,” earning an immediate reaction from the audience. However, the defining moment of the night came when the artist demonstrated his versatility by accurately imitating the sound of a trumpet using only his nose—an act that surprised the panel of judges composed of Paula Echevarría, Carlos Latre, Risto Mejide, and Lorena Castell.
The performance reached its most emotional point when Sebas presented an original composition dedicated to his brother, who passed away in 2018. Actress Paula Echevarría, visibly moved by the vocal quality and emotional depth of the piece, was responsible for pressing the Golden Buzzer.
With this recognition, the singer-songwriter—who already has previous experience opening concerts for artists of the caliber of Juan Luis Guerra—reaffirms his position as one of the Costa Rican talents with the greatest international projection today.
