From July 23 to August 1, the International Film Festival 2026 will present a diverse program featuring national and international productions, along with activities for audiences of all ages. This year’s edition places a special focus on Caribbean cinema, while also showcasing horror, fantasy films, coming-of-age stories, and movies for children.
Screenings will take place at Cine Magaly and other venues in San José, while the festival will also bring free film screenings to cantons such as Pérez Zeledón, Matina, and communities in the Northern Zone, expanding access to cinema beyond the capital. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as seating for each screening is limited.
