This weekend, we had the privilege of witnessing an extraordinary edition of WordCamp San José 2025, the most important gathering for the WordPress community in Costa Rica and the LATAM region. We at People of Costa Rica are filled with pride to see how organizers, volunteers, and attendees came together to create a diverse, inclusive space full of learning. Congratulations to all who made this possible!
Contributor Day: Collaboration, Knowledge, and Community
The Contributor Day event brought together 82 passionate participants who joined 8 themed tables: Community, WPTV, Core, Marketing, WP Photos, Support, Translations, and Information (for first-time attendees). The tables were led by the WordCamp San José organizers and the WordPress Latam team, demonstrating the strength of a community that cooperates and grows together. Each table brought attendees closer to the different aspects of the WordPress universe, providing guidance and sharing knowledge for all.

Main WordCamp: An Event That Transcends Borders
The main event sold 352 tickets and managed to bring together a total of 382 people, including 45 additional attendees (without tickets), who received lunch thanks to the organization’s courtesy. Even those who arrived by invitation, as guests, or at the last minute found a warm space, attentive reception, and inclusion. The atmosphere was one of enthusiasm, learning, and networking; a true display of the active and generous tech community that characterizes Costa Rica and the region.
International Participation: LATAM and the World Unite in Costa Rica
One of the greatest achievements of WordCamp San José 2025 was the outstanding international participation: representatives from 14 countries—Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Spain, Venezuela, Argentina, Peru, United States, El Salvador, Colombia, Panama, Mexico, Ecuador, and Hungary—demonstrated the global reach and unifying power of WordPress. The exchange of ideas, projects, and culture enriched the event and solidified the region as a digital epicenter.
Gerardo Venegas: Our Director, a Source of Tico and Latin American Pride
We cannot fail to congratulate our director, Gerardo Venegas, who shone as a speaker at WordCamp San José 2025. His participation is an honor for our outlet and reflects Costa Rica’s commitment to innovation, open knowledge, and professional drive in technology. Thank you, Gerardo, for inspiring the community and showcasing local talent!
Congratulations and a Call to Continue Collaborating
We extend our sincere thanks and congratulations to the organizers, volunteers, speakers, and attendees who made WordCamp San José 2025 a success. From People of Costa Rica, we celebrate and support these initiatives that promote collaboration, growth, and the digital future of our region.
Let’s keep building community, sharing knowledge, and empowering Costa Rican and Latin American talent!
