Costa Rican talent is once again resonating internationally, this time in an industry that often works in anonymity: voice acting. This past November 6th, the list of nominees for the prestigious “Premios Voces en la Mitad del Mundo” (Voices in the Middle of the World Awards) was announced, and several national voices, including those of the renowned Michael Rojas and Carolina Solano, are on the list.
This news celebrates the quality, versatility, and creativity of voice professionals in Costa Rica, proving that their talent competes at the highest level in Latin America.
What are the “Premios Voces en la Mitad del Mundo”?
These awards, based in Ecuador, have established themselves as one of the most relevant recognitions for the voice-over industry in Ibero-America. They not only award commercial voice-overs (radio and television ads) but also recognize excellence in areas such as dubbing, audiobook narration, podcasts, and character voice creation.
Being nominated in this competition means that an international panel of experts has identified the Ticos’ work as among the best on the continent.
A Recognition of the Tico Industry’s Quality
The nominations for Rojas, Solano, and other Costa Rican colleagues (whose specific categories will be detailed at the ceremony) highlight the maturity of the voice-acting industry in the country.
For years, Costa Rica has been a breeding ground for creative voices, not only for the local market but also exporting talent for international brands and major production studios. This recognition is not an isolated event but the result of a professionalized sector with a high technical level and a remarkable interpretive capacity.
A Celebration of National Talent
These nominations are a source of pride for the country. They are well-deserved applause for those professionals who, using only their voice, manage to convey emotions, build brands, and tell stories.
Regardless of the final outcome at the awards gala, the simple fact of being on the finalists’ list confirms that the voices of Costa Rica are of export quality and have an international projection that continues to rise.
