World Heritage Festival at the National Museum of Costa Rica

The World Heritage Festival will take place on Sunday, July 12, at the Bellavista headquarters of the National Museum of Costa Rica, celebrating the designation of the Diquís Chiefdom Settlements with Stone Spheres as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy folkloric performances, guided tours, Boruca mask-making workshops, arts and crafts activities, a Latin music concert, a local artisan market, and food vendors, offering a family-friendly celebration of Costa Rica’s cultural heritage.

The program includes:

• 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Performances by the Curubandá Folkloric Company and the INUK Children’s and Youth Folkloric Company.
• 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Guided tours.
• 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Workshops, including Boruca mask-making and crafts. Each workshop kit costs ₡5,000, payable directly to the participating artisans.
• 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.: The “Havanna” concert by ChepeSon, featuring bolero, son, Afro-Latin rhythms, salsa, and Latin jazz.

Throughout the festival, visitors will also find food stalls and more than ten local businesses showcasing and selling art, handicrafts, and traditional cuisine in an event designed to bring Costa Rica’s rich cultural heritage closer to the public.
