About Patriotic Celebrations to Bring Tradition to the Country from September 13 to 15

From September 13 to 15, Costa Rica will celebrate its Patriotic Holidays with a program featuring the traditional Freedom Torch relay, lantern parades, civic ceremonies and student marching bands.

The Torch will travel across the country from the Nicaraguan border to Cartago, accompanied by students and civic and cultural activities in different communities. On September 14, schools throughout the country will hold the traditional lantern parades, and the National Anthem will be performed at 6:00 p.m.

On September 15, Independence Day, official ceremonies and patriotic parades will take place in communities across the country. In San José, the celebrations will include an official ceremony and performances by student marching bands.

These activities are among the most important cultural celebrations on Costa Rica’s calendar, offering locals and visitors an opportunity to experience traditions that are deeply connected to the country’s national identity.
