About the Performance:
The renowned early music ensemble Harmonia del Parnàs, under the direction of Marian Rosa Montagut (harpsichord), presents a captivating journey through the musical, theatrical, and lyrical heritage of 18th-century Spain.
Performed using historical instruments and historically informed performance practices, the program explores themes of love, drama, and dance that characterized the Spanish Baroque period. The ensemble seeks to revive and preserve a rich artistic legacy through rigorous research and authentic interpretation.
Joining the ensemble are Costa Rican soprano Gimena Sánchez, Spanish soprano Ruth Rosique, and countertenor Lidor Mesika, whose voices will bring to life the elegance and emotion of this remarkable repertoire.
The concert is co-produced with ¡Pura Clásica! of the University of Costa Rica and is supported by Bansbach, the Spanish Ministry of Culture through INAEM, and AC/E (Acción Cultural Española).
