Marcia Madrigal, I was born with a paintbrush in one hand and a colored pencil in the other.

I met Marcia Madrigal by chance one Saturday morning at the Barrio Aranjuez Green Market. We shared a table. Marcia was a colleague of a friend, who had also been a student of her mother, a woman with a distinguished artistic career, with whom I will definitely speak another time.

The conversation quickly turned to art. It turned out that Marcia had an exhibition running until July 30th at the Children’s Museum Gallery.

Marcia’s energy is contagious. As a professional artist, her day consists of at least eight hours of painting, and sometimes twelve or more.

“I was lucky enough to be born into a family that instilled in us a love of culture and the arts, and that’s the path I followed. I’ve always been painting; I attended art school, studied art and graphic design there… A few years ago, I decided I was going to stop doing what other people wanted me to do and start doing what I want to do. And I hope people can connect with me.”

Anyone interested in visiting Marcia’s exhibition at the Children’s Museum.
