Green Economy Festival in Curridabat: Sustainability, Gastronomy, and Circular Economy
The Municipality of Curridabat will host the Green Economy Festival on June 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Parque Las Embajadas. The event will bring together public institutions, entrepreneurs, producers, and organizations committed to sustainability, offering educational, cultural, and interactive activities for the whole family.
One of the festival’s highlights will be the launch of the cookbook De feria tengo que cocinar, developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The cookbook features recipes made with fresh products commonly found at local farmers’ markets. Visitors will also have the opportunity to witness the preparation of the country’s largest green plantain picadillo, showcasing circular economy principles and the full use of locally produced food.
The festival is part of the celebration of the Sustainable Gastronomy Day and aims to promote responsible consumption, support local products, and strengthen the connection between communities and their local food systems.
