The Municipality of San José confirmed this Tuesday the official dates for the next edition of the Transitarte Summer Festival, one of the country’s most emblematic cultural events that transforms the capital’s public spaces into an open stage for art, music, and creativity.

According to the official statement, Transitarte 2026 will take place on April 10, 11, and 12, inviting thousands of people to enjoy a diverse outdoor artistic program. Although authorities have only announced the dates so far, they indicated that details of the schedule —including activities, timetables, venues, and participating artists— will be revealed in the coming weeks.

This festival, with several years of history, has consolidated its reputation as a cultural platform that brings both residents and visitors closer to diverse artistic expressions. During Transitarte, parks, plazas, and streets in the downtown area become meeting spaces where live music, visual arts, theater, dance, workshops, exhibitions, and creative entrepreneurship markets come together, all with free admission for the public.

The initiative is part of the Municipality of San José’s efforts to energize the city’s cultural life and promote the use and appreciation of public spaces, while also providing a forum for national artists and entrepreneurs from different regions of the country.

In previous editions, Transitarte has attracted large crowds and has served as a showcase for local creativity, fostering cultural exchange and strengthening the social fabric through activities designed for people of all ages.

With the dates now confirmed, cultural authorities and organizers are calling on citizens to stay tuned for the full program to be announced in the coming weeks and to plan their participation in this event, which has become a tradition in Costa Rica’s cultural calendar.
