The Ministry of Culture and Youth, through the Juan Santamaría Historical and Cultural Museum, in co-production with RA Producciones and Teatro Los de a Pie, invites the public to enjoy the second part of the play “Para vestir Santos.”

In its first edition, “Para vestir Santos: Historias de Semana Santa,” the production aimed to encourage the public to participate in the Holy Week events through oral performance and storytelling by Doña “Chila” — a character portrayed by Xinia Vargas Sánchez — an elderly woman and faithful parish volunteer who has gathered a series of stories and anecdotes from these celebrations and processions.

This time, Doña “Chila” returns with new stories, and will be joined by Tobías Candelario — played by Wilson Ulate Araya — a dear friend of Father Justo, a calm and experienced collaborator of various churches, who answers the call of Father Justo for a review meeting. Both will find themselves immersed in the search for missing objects that could not be used in past processions. This mission will spark a “power struggle” between them, promising an unexpected and surprise-filled ending. The cast promises the audience an evening full of humor, devotion, and mischief with this production titled “Para vestir santos: De lo sublime a lo terrenal.”

“What we seek with this script, in addition to continuing the previous production, is to highlight our faith traditions and the people who make these traditions possible,” emphasized Wilson Ulate Araya, actor, playwright, and director of the production and director of the Teatro Los de a Pie group.
