Capacity: 25 participants

Aimed at boys and girls ages 5 to 10

In this workshop, we will travel to the Ice Age in Costa Rica to learn about the surprising megafauna that once inhabited our country: mastodons, giant sloths, and enormous armadillos from the Pleistocene. Through fossils and fun activities, participants will discover what life was like in that frozen world and learn about Costa Rica’s natural past.
The activity will be led by geologist Joanna Méndez from the Department of Natural History, with the support of Catalina Mesén from the Museum Outreach Department.

Materials: bring a snack and comfortable clothes that can get dirty.
