Gastronomy and Music Take Over La Sabana for Two Consecutive Weekends

Parque Metropolitano La Sabana will host an event combining gastronomy, music, and family activities over two consecutive weekends in San José. The initiative aims to strengthen the park’s role as a strategic open-air cultural meeting space while boosting local economic activity.

The event will bring together food entrepreneurs, musical groups, and recreational spaces, encouraging citizen participation and the use of public infrastructure. According to the Instituto Costarricense del Deporte y la Recreación(ICODER), such activities promote community engagement in open and safe environments.

From an economic perspective, the Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Comercio (MEIC) highlights that these gatherings support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, the Banco Central de Costa Rica (BCCR) notes that entertainment, commerce, and services are key drivers of urban economic activity.

In the cultural sphere, the Ministerio de Cultura y Juventud (MCJ) emphasizes the importance of democratizing access to culture through activities held in public spaces.
