My name is Gerardo Venegas. Welcome to my blog, People of Costa Rica.
People of Costa Rica is a celebration of all the inhabitants of this beautiful piece of land that I have had the privilege of calling my home and my country since I was born.
It is the perfect excuse to fulfill the dream of that 7-year-old boy, who was mesmerized by the photographs and stories of National Geographic and wanted to become a photographer. Additionally, it is also my perfect excuse to keep traveling and meeting incredible people in every corner of Costa Rica.
What can you find here?
My main intention is to share and bring visibility to the stories of Costa Rica’s inhabitants. However, the blog has grown and added some important sections with useful information for my readers. The main sections are:
People of Costa Rica: The main section featuring stories of Costa Rican inhabitants. Stories will be organized by themes.
History: A section dedicated to historical information about Costa Rica.
Places: Stories and reports on places I visit.
Agenda: Due to the high traffic on the blog and the visitations by countless tourists, I have added an agenda section to share events. If you want your event to appear in the agenda section, click here to learn how.
Blog or News: A section to share news and relevant information about Costa Rica. We are not, nor do we intend to be, a newspaper; I will only share news that I find important.
Podcast and Documentaries: This is a new project I am working on—it’s exactly as described. More updates will follow once I have the material and the idea becomes more concrete. 🙂

- People of Costa Rica does not charge for appearing on the website.
- We are happy to accept invitations to explore places, destinations, and experiences. There is no fee for the reports; we only ask that food and accommodation be provided if required. For inquiries, please write to puravida@peopleofcostarica.com.
- Advertising Spaces: We offer advertising spaces for Imagine Paradise clients to help keep the blog running. Interested parties can purchase plans by contacting info@imagineparadise.xyz.
- People of Costa Rica accepts donations from its readers. Sixty percent of the donated funds is transferred to a foundation focused on social or environmental causes at the end of each year.
