Costa Rica Piano Festival 2026 brings free classical music beyond the Greater Metropolitan Area

The Costa Rica Piano Festival 2026 will take place from July 4 to 11 and, for the first time, will bring free concerts by young pianists to Cartago, Heredia, and Alajuela, in addition to San José. The goal is to decentralize classical music offerings and make them accessible to more communities across the country.

The program includes opening concerts and performances in museums and provincial auditoriums, as well as recitals at the Golden Hall of the Costa Rican Art Museum, a “Young Talents” gala at the Humboldt Auditorium, and a closing concert at the National Theatre. The festival will also feature classes, workshops, and training levels for pianists ranging from beginners to elite performers.
