Diplomatic representations and cultural delegations from 11 countries will participate in the first edition of the Curridabat Gastronomic Festival, a multicultural gathering that will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Parque de Las Embajadas, in the district of Sánchez (Ayarco Sur). The event, organized by the Municipality of Curridabat, will include tastings of international dishes, artistic activities, and cultural presentations.
The initiative, which will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., will bring together in one space representations from Chile, China, Colombia, Korea, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Italy, Mexico, Panama, and Peru, as well as organizations such as the Korean Association of Costa Rica and the Honduran–Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce.
The festival will offer attendees the opportunity to taste traditional dishes from each participating country, allowing a direct exchange of flavors and gastronomic knowledge. In addition to the culinary offerings, a parallel program of artistic presentations and cultural showcases is included.
Among the highlighted activities, Italy will present an open-air art gallery and promote study opportunities in its country, while Peru will include handicraft exhibitions alongside its gastronomic proposal. Korea’s participation will be complemented by cultural expressions such as K-pop, among other artistic elements.
The municipality reported that the event was designed with multiple purposes: to promote cultural integration, boost the local economy, and encourage the use of public space. It is also expected that this celebration will consolidate over time as a series of annual international gatherings that strengthen the ties between different communities and cultures in the canton.
Admission to the Curridabat Gastronomic Festival will be open to the public, free of charge, which seeks to encourage the participation of families, students, tourists, and residents of the eastern area of the Greater Metropolitan Area.
