From November 20 to 22, five stages across the country will come alive with national and international talent
San José, October 30, 2025. Costa Rica will mark a new milestone in its cultural calendar with the first edition of the 506 Jazz Fest 2025, a festival that will bring together music, tourism, and cultural diplomacy in a unique experience.
From November 20 to 22, five venues across the country will fill with rhythm, improvisation, and creative freedom thanks to the participation of renowned national and international artists, in a free event promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Youth (MCJ).
The 506 Jazz Fest 2025 will turn San José into the jazz epicenter of Central America, while strengthening the projection of Costa Rican talent and boosting the cultural economy through artistic tourism.
The stages will be the Fidel Gamboa Amphitheater (CENAC), the Calderón Guardia Museum, the Costa Rican Art Museum, La Libertad Park, and the National Theater of Costa Rica, each offering programming that brings together generations and styles around the universal language of jazz.

“Jazz is freedom, improvisation, and connection—three words that also define what we want for our culture. With the 506 Jazz Fest 2025, we settle a historic debt with a genre that has shaped generations of Costa Rican musicians and project the country toward new audiences,” said Jorge Rodríguez Vives, Minister of Culture and Youth.
Three Days of Jazz, Talent, and Learning
The public will enjoy concerts, workshops, and free open masterclasses, combining live performances with spaces for learning and cultural exchange.
Among the international guest artists are:
- Néstor Torres, world-renowned Puerto Rican flutist and composer
- Dave Pietro, American saxophonist and educator recognized for his versatility and career
- Alon Yavnai, Israeli pianist who fuses jazz with classical music and Middle Eastern sounds
Costa Rican talent will take center stage with performances by Ale González Trio, Edgar Sequeira Trio, Massk, Costa Rica Big Band, Gina Chaverri, Pablo Campos Trio, Edgar Brenes & Juan Pablo, and the National Music Institute Big Band, among others.
“The 506 Jazz Fest will be more than a festival: it is a space for professional development for our musicians, a meeting point between generations, and a platform that places Costa Rica on the world jazz map,” added Rodríguez Vives.
The full program of the 506 Jazz Fest 2025 will be available on the official MCJ social media channels, at www.mcj.go.cr, and in the app agenda.mcj.go.cr
