The Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) has updated its brochures for tourists and the tourist map of Costa Rica to provide a useful tool for private sector companies, tour guides, and the general public. This allows them to have firsthand information to guide tourists on tourist attractions and services in various destinations.

Agencies, hotels, transporters, and other businesses in the sector will have access to brochures on national parks, biodiversity, cultural offerings, adventure, safety, and general information, as well as tourist maps with relevant details for recreational activities, species spotting, key places to visit by geographical areas, among others.

In this way, the institution aims to promote the country’s various destinations with updated data and brief, simple, and enjoyable information about tourist attractions and advice on environmental conditions, activities to develop, etc.

“On behalf of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, we would like to invite you to make use of the tourist map of Costa Rica and more than 50 updated informational brochures that we have prepared for you. This is a reference tool on various tourist-related topics, both in Spanish and English, that can be used by both domestic and foreign tourists, as well as by tour guides to facilitate their work. The topics of these materials are varied and include the tourist map, national parks, flora and fauna observation, cultural and adventure activities, bus routes, and safety tips,” said Alberto López, general manager of ICT.

Process to obtain printed material
If you are a tourism company and are interested in obtaining these printed brochures, you only need to make a request to the Tourist Attention Department. The available materials are:

• Tourist Map of Costa Rica
• National Parks
• Adventure Brochures
• Safety Brochures
• Animal Watching
• Pre-Columbian Spheres
• Historical Walks through the provinces

Steps to follow to obtain them:

1. Send the request by email to: Tourist.info@ict.go.cr
2. You will be notified by the same medium when the material is ready and informed of the date to pick it up at the ICT central offices in La Uruca.
3. You have 7 business days to collect it. If you do not, the material will be released, and you will need to request it again.
4. Companies can only request material every three months. The distribution will be equitable, depending on availability.
5. Additionally, you will have electronic access to the materials available in printed format.

Companies that are registered with a tourism declaration or a Tourism Sustainability Certificate (CST) can obtain a maximum of 100 informational brochures and up to 200 tourist maps. Those not registered with ICT will receive a maximum of 50 brochures and 50 tourist maps. It should be noted that the material will be distributed while supplies last.
